Welcome to Stephens Elementary School
Welcome! My name is Sarah Galanter-Guziewski and I am the School Principal. Our students call me Ms. GG. The Assistant Principal is Dr. Grace Okoli. Glenn Stephens is a wonderful elementary school with over 540 students in 4K through 5th grade. We have a growing bi-lingual program which is now in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. Our school pulls from neighborhoods all around the west side of Madison and we have 9 buses that come to the front of our building each morning.
Stephens is a wonderful place to learn, make friends and have fun. Since the Fall of 2012 we have increased our focus on our students social-emotional learning in addition to academics, and in Fall 2013 we plan to focus on this even more! Starting in September 2013, we will have school-wide announcements over the intercom where we do either a school wide meditation/guided visualization or exercise. It is great fun and helps our students focus when we need to and gets us all - students and staff - re-energized.
We have an amazing staff that works diligently to help students enjoy learning, strive for goals, and reach their potential. Parents and families are an important part of our school. There are several ways to become involved from coming to a school event to volunteering to organize an event. You can also volunteer in the classroom or tutor specific students. Our staff appreciate all types of support.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 608-204-1902.
